Process
Abhyanga involves a thoughtfully orchestrated series of steps to ensure a nurturing and beneficial experience for you. Starting with an assessment of your constitution and specific needs, appropriate herbal oils are then warmed and the massage space is prepared for comfort. After introducing the process and inviting relaxation, the warm oils are applied systematically over the body using a combination of very specific strokes, with gentle pressure on marma (pressure) points and finishing with the pièce de résistance, the Ayurvedic head massage. The session typically lasts around 90 mins followed by a period of rest for absorption and warm herbal tea enhances detoxification and relaxation.
